Summer Haiku and Acrostic

This week we wrote poems. We wrote Haiku and Acrostic poems.

The Summer Haiku

Breeze goes like this swish
We have dinner at my house
Then we go swimming

When we have fun in
the sun it is hot outside

We can play all day

Vaseline Saucer Pet Day

This term we made Vaseline saucers for Pet Day. They had to be symmetrical. This was our maths because it was learning about symmetry. I like it because you got to choose your own flowers that you could use.
I tried to copy off my piece of paper and I did well on was my Vaseline saucer because it was even.

Christmas Tree Writing

In Team Awa, we have been doing Christmas themes for writing today. First we sketched our Christmas tree. Secondly we made a poem about Christmas and how we feel, we also printed it out. Thirdly we cut our tree out and glued it on our writing. Here is my work:

Greats and Grands

Here is my writing for my nana.
You are the best in the world.
You give me chocolate.

You are funny as a clown doing a trick.

As you see me later at home.

You give me presents. You are the best.

You do good things with me every day.

You give me milo every day.

After the day is over I give you the card.
The best in my heart nana.
I love you so much.

Art 2018

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work.
We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture.
The words become the shape of the picture.
Something I did well was drawing my pictures that were on my art.
Some things I could improve on is my colouring in and leave no white parts.
