This week we have been looking at autumn leaves and writing about them. So we went to a autumn tree with autumn leaves in it. We also saw some green leaves in the tree. We had fun on Wednesday.

Mrs B said we all needed lots of help on this tasc but it is OK because we are learning.
|
Next time I will try and not get distracted with showing other people my work and not be so interested in other people's work because I didn’t meet the deadline.
|
I learnt how to write the layer names, planets and heat related words like temperature. Also I learnt lots about Earth.

is Earth like a hand boyode
Kia ora
We are learning about what the Earth is like on the outside and the inside. We used hard-boiled eggs as mini-models for the earth. We got to design our own continents and islands on the outside of the egg shell. At the end of the experiment we got to eat the egg.
Here is the Link

Structure of the Earth Facts
We are learning about the structure of the Earth.
I learnt that the Earth is made up of 4 layers. They are the inner core, outer core, mantle and
crust.
crust.
Facts about each layer: Inner core outer core Mantle and crust. they are
Crust - The crust is the thinnest layer of them all and and is pushing all the others in.
Mantle - The mantle is made out of rocks and it is squishy and soft because the hot temperature
has melted the rocks.
has melted the rocks.
Outer Core -The outer core is the third layer of the Earth. It is the temperature of the out layer of the sun which is about 5,778 K
Inner Core - The inner core is solid Nickel and Iron. Even though it is extremely hot, it remains solid because of the pressure pushing in on it from all of the layers above.
Our group - Piata, Brooke, Elise
First we created a 3D image of the earth using out of clay.
We then cut the shape in half to show the different layers. After waiting for it to dry, we identified
each layer by painting them in different colours.

The Living World
Hello,
This is my living slideshow.
For the last 5 or 6 weeks will be choosing our own activities to learn about the living world.
We did a multiple intelligences test to see what kind of learner we were.
My top three ways of learning intelligences are;
1. Musical
2. Naturalist
3.Verbal
I am looking forward to know what my intelligences are.
It was interesting trying to get the right images.

MRS GREN Fish Bone Diagram
We have been learning how to write explanations and also
doing research about the living world so our teachers gave us this writing task. We learned what a fishbone diagram is and how to use a completed one to make our own using a life form of our choice. We had to organise the fact boxes by using MRS GREN which is an anagram which reminds you about what life forms do. Here is mine. I chose to write about: lemon fish
What I liked about this task: I like to chose my animal
What was easy: I got to write.
